I am a licensed massage therapist (LMT) with the state of New York, conducting my practice in the space between body and mind. I received my formal massage education at the Pacific College of Health and Science (formerly Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, New York City Campus) at the time, one of the best programs in the country. My intensive study was in both Sport/Medical Massage and Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage under Master Yang, Fukui). To understand the movement and flow of the body internally, I practice the art of Qi Gong under Master Hal Asbury. My study of sport medicine steered me in the direction of more gentle neurological philosophies like those proposed by Diane Jacobs, a clinical approach she has called, Dermoneuro Modulation (a careful approach to working with the central nervous system through specialized skin contact accessing the subcutaneous nervous system); as well as, Ortho-Bionomy as interpreted by Kathy L. Kaine (a gentle mobilization for nervous system re-patterning so that the body can perceive other options for easier movement and function.)
In my current studies, I have undertaken the 3-Year Program for Somatic Experiencing™ as envisioned by Dr. Peter Levine: a body-oriented therapeutic model that helps access patterns of fight, flight and freeze, and discharge them in a safe and elegant way. Helping people regain their resilience and agency for a more connected and creative life.
My desire has always been to be a poet. I admit, a strange desire in our day and age. To speak with the divine, I had to formulate my own language. I have had many teachers throughout my life, but none have been as instrumental in my development as my beloved mentor, Enrique Enriquez. I studied poetics of form with Enrique for over a decade and continue to do so. Above all, he has taught me the Language of the Birds. This is the ability to see the perfection of all things, in and out of time. Madelyn Kent, who developed the approach, Sense-Writing, has helped me bridge my language to my body using her own neurological approach coupled with the Feldenkrais Method. Every expression can now be one of a poetic nature- whether the movement of the tongue and vibration of the vocal cords or a leap to the center of all Creation.

“The Somatic Experiencing® method is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma and other stress disorders. It is the life’s work of Peter A. Levine, PhD, resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, psychology, and indigenous healing practices, together with over 50 years of successful clinical application. The SE™ approach releases traumatic shock and restores connection, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma. It offers a framework to assess where a person is “stuck” in the fight, flight or freeze responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states. “
Aleks is currently a student in the SE program, he is authorized to practice Somatic Experiencing®
Dermo Neuro Modulation (DNM), a structured, interactive approach to manual therapy that considers the nervous system of the patient from skin cell to sense of self. Techniques are slow, light, kind, intelligent, responsive and effective.
Ortho-Bionomy uses gentle positioning and movements which can allow tension patterns which are creating pain to relax, reset and reorganize from within.
Tui Na (Classical Chinese Massage for orthopedic sport injury and internal medicine. Grounded in traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy, this massage style includes a variety of techniques from stretching, muscle activation, pushing and pulling on tissues, holding acupressure points, manipulation of joints both with assistance and without, tapotement, cupping, as well as the use of herbal liniments and poultices if necessary.
Deep Oscillation is a unique, patented, proven, FDA- Approved non-invasive therapy method that creates biological oscillations using electrostatic attraction and friction. This generates a gentle kneading effect deep within the tissue.
I use a small machine and I wear gloves. It is very gentle and relaxing and is approved for post surgical pain and scar tissue work.
Used specifically in Lymphedema, Scar Therapy, Pre-Post Op treatments, Fibrosis, tendon/ligament tears and ruptures, muscle soreness, muscle repair, muscle and joint pain.
Deep oscillation therapy supports, intensifies, and improves the effects and lastingness of other therapeutic methods and manual techniques such as manual lymphatic drainage, classic massage, anti-edemic therapy and vibrational massage.
